Rules & Regulations: Sooo-not-a-model Model Search 2009
The Sooo-not-a-model Model Search is provided by West 49 Inc. All questions regarding the Contest rules should be directed to West 49 at 1100 Burloak Drive, Suite 200, Burlington, ON L7L 6B2. Rules and regulations are available online at www.sooo-not-a-model.com
- Only one entry per person. No purchase necessary. Eligible persons may enter by completing and submitting an original entry form available online at www.sooo-not-a-model.com. Any person entering more than once will be automatically disqualified. Entrants must fill out our survey questions, including how you define your personal style in fifty (50) words or less. All entries become the property of West 49 Inc. and none shall be returned.
- To be eligible, entries on sooo-not-a-model.com must be received by 5:00pm (EST) on the contest closing date of May 18, 2009. West 49 Inc. is not responsible for any entries which are incomplete, lost, stolen, destroyed, delayed, or not transmitted due to technical failure, however caused.
- From all the entries received, fifty (50) contestants (semi-finalists) will be selected on May 19, 2009 at 11:00am (E.S.T.) and contacted by telephone or by email. If the selected semi-finalists are unavailable by telephone or email by 4:00pm on May 19, 2009 at 4:00pm (EST), she or he will forfeit their entry .
- These fifty (50) entrants (semi-finalists) will then be asked to submit 3-5 photos of themselves together with a 2 minute video diary indicating why they are the West 49 model. The photos and video diary must be received no later than 4:00pm (EST) on May 20, 2009 in order to be considered for the contest grand-prize. If the semi-finalists are unable to submit their photos and video diary within the allotted time frame, then she or he will forfeit their entry.
- The semi-finalist hereby acknowledge that West 49 Inc. will own all rights in the photographs and video diary (the "Material") created in connection with the Model Search and that West 49 Inc. is therefore entitled to use the Material in any way and all manner and media now known and hereafter created throughout the world in perpetuity without limitation, and in particular, on the West 49’s websites or for future marketing and promotions, without limitation or compensation.
- All Material submitted by the semi-finalists will be reviewed by a panel of 5 competition judges (judges to be selected by West 49 Inc.) and six finalists will be selected to win the Grand Prize. The Grand Prize winners will be selected and contacted on May 22, 2009 by 5:00pm (EST).
- The grand prize will consist of six (6) winners who will be featured in a ‘West 49 Sooo-not-a-model’ promotional section running in Seventeen magazine and other advertising campaigns. The ‘West 49 Sooo-not-a-model’ fashion shoot will take place in Canada during the month of May or June 2009. Return airfare departing from the closest major airport to winner(s) location to the photo shoot will be arranged by West 49 Inc. (dates to be determined by West 49 Inc.); and two (2) nights hotel accommodation (1 room based on double occupancy to be shared with another contest winner) will be provided by West 49 Inc. If winner(s) is/are under the age of 18 they must be accompanied by an adult on the above mentioned trip. Approximate value of the trip depends on each winner’s departure city. Total grand prize value is to be determined by the winner(s) residence.
- Entrants will be judged on originality and flair. The chances of winning are dependent upon the total number of eligible entries received and on the originality of the entrant’s submission. The prize must be accepted as awarded, is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. West 49 Inc. reserves the right to substitute any portion of the prize with a prize of equal value whatsoever. All federal, provincial and municipal taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.
- This Contest is open to all residents of Canada excluding residents of Quebec, and excluding employees of West 49 Inc. and their respective interactive, advertising and promotional agencies, persons with whom any of the above are domiciled and/or members of their respective immediate families. Participants in the Contest agree to abide by these rules and all decisions of West 49.Inc. and the prize sponsors.
- The Prize winners must sign the Waiver/Release of liability as a condition to and in advance of receiving the Prize in favour of West 49 Inc. such that West 49 Inc. shall not be liable for the use or misuse of the Prize (parent or legal guardian will be asked to sign this form on behalf of the winner if the selected winner is under the age of 18). West 49 Inc. and the other sponsors assume no responsibility for the participation in the Contest, or any liability, claims, demands, actions, loss, damage or personal injury that may be sustained by either the winner of the Prize or his/her guest.
- Participation in the Contest constitutes permission to West 49 Inc. and the sponsors and their agencies to use the name, photograph and/or likeness of the winner (and his/her guest) purposes of promotion, advertising, and trade without further compensation.
- By participating in this Contest, all entrants agree to be bound by these Rules and Regulations. The decisions of the Contest judges are final. West 49 Inc. and the sponsors are not responsible for any typographical error in the printing, the offering or the administration of the Contest. West 49 Inc. reserves the right to withdraw or terminate the Contest at any time without prior notice or to change the Rules and Regulations. Contact or correspondence will occur only with selected entrants. This Contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial and Municipal Laws and regulations.
